AN UNSTOPPABLE FIGHT LIGHTENS THE WSK OPEN CUP IN LONATO.
Qualifying heats without a break at South Garda Karting, to define the starting grids of the final day of tomorrow: 23 heats today, in which favourites and outsiders, from yesterday’s timing practice, put themselves back in the game for the most important goal, reachable only with the results of tomorrow’s Prefinals and Finals. The WSK Open Cup is at its first round in Lonato and will cross the finish line in Castelletto di Branduzzo (PV) in two weeks time, where all the scored points, will enhance the final sprint even more.
A FIRST ROUND TO BE ENJOYED ON VIDEO.
Since the KZ2 drivers race only one round the immediate success is what cheers them up. Tomorrow they will aim the final victory, while for the OK, OKJ and 60 Mini categories that race two rounds of the WSK Open Cup will have to keep the scored points in mind. The duels on track will be captured by the WSK Promotion cameras, with the live streaming starting from the Prefinals at 11:00 a.m . The broadcast will be available until the end of the finals, on the official website www.wsk.it and on the Wsk Promotion Facebook page.
GIUSEPPE PALOMBA SPEEDS UP IN KZ2.
Giuseppe Palomba from Naples (BirelArt- TM Bridgestone) didn’t miss a shot, by winning the three heats today and achieving the lead in the intermediate ranking. Giacomo Pollini from Brescia (Formula K- TM) yesterday’s best in the timing practice, conquers the second place and the first row in the Prefinal next to poleman Palomba. (In the remaining positions), the dutch man Stan Pex (KR-TM) moves up to third place. Excellent performance also for Alessio Lorandi from Brescia (Parolin-TM) that is fourth in the intermediate ranking and in second row for the Prefinal.
KIRILL SMAL REMAINS IN THE LEAD IN OK.
The Russian driver Kirill Smal (TonyKart-Vortex Bridgestone) doesn’t give up the leadership, even tho he lost twice to the British Taylor Barnard (KR-Iame) today. Unlucky in the first heat, Taylor will be however in the first row in the Prefinal A alongside Smal. The Swedish Norton Andreasson, crossing the line in the heats always in the first three places, gained the pole position in the Prefinal B. Alongside him there will be the Spanish driver Pedro Hiltbrand (both on a Tony-Kart-Vortex) after a good recovery from a eighth place in the practices.
ANDREA ANTONELLI DOESN’T GIVE UP TO HIS OKJ RIVALS.
The OKJ leader is always Andrea Kimi Antonelli ( KR-Iame-Vega) after winning all the 4 heats of the day. That way, the driver from Bologna gains the pole position in the Prefinal A against his main rival the Russian Nikita Bedrin ( Tony-Kart-Vortex), poleman of the Prefinal B and winner of three heats. Next to Antonelli will start the brillint Artem Severiukhin (TonyKart-Vortex), winner of one of today’s heats and three second places. Surprisingly, the Norwegian Martinius Stenshorne achieves the same results and got the first row with Bedrin in Prefinal B.
IN THE 60 MINI THE DUEL IS BETWEEN BLUM AND AL DHAHERI.
When there are still three heats to go tomorrow in the 60 Mini the challenge for the lead seems to be between the Austrian Kiano Blum and the young Emirati Rashid Al Dhaheri (both on Parolin-TM Vega) the only ones amongst many drivers to have won three heats so far. The fight becomes harder, considering the two victories of the Thailandese Enzo Tarnvanichkul and the Polish Jan Przyrowsky. Other conteders are the Bulgarian Nicola Tsolov and the Ucranian Oleksander Bondarev (TonyKart-TM), winners of one heat each (all the others on Parolin-TM).
